Mona was searching the internet for Hardwood Flooring in Rancho Santa Fe and luckily enough she found our store. Her concerns were that she has this large home and she has a busy household so she wanted a nice 7" wide distressed wood floor, but did not want to spend a ton on this part of the project.
She also had a concern that the new wood would flush out even with the existing limestone flooring which is in most of the high traffic areas and is used as a surrounding border in the living and dining areas. She did not want to have transition strips in all of those walking areas.
As you can see in these photos we spent a great deal of time preparing the concrete sub floor so that the 2 surfaces would flush out evenly. We then used a high quality sealer on the concrete.
We also took the extra time to undercut the fireplaces so the new wood would slip in just right to create a nice smooth appearance that makes it look like they were built right on top.
You can see here how we ramped out at least 5 feet and filled over the concrete to get a nice even edge at the Limestone flooring.
We also took the time to even out the doorway transitions and this is the swimming pool looking sealer we use made by the Sika corporation.
