These are some photos of the steps that we take to secure your hardwood flooring installation in Carmel Valley as we have a pretty high moisture pressure in most concrete slabs in our neighborhood.
This first photo is the Bostics moisture resistance system that we have been applying to most all of our hardwood installations to protect from underlying moisture in your concrete slab. This of course does not prevent you 100% but it does come very close. We have been getting a lot of calls for water damaged floors lately and this product does not prevent from topical water damage.
The photos below show some of the floor preparation required to level your floor so that you have a semi level surface on completion. No floor is perfectly level so we usually will have areas that we use a compound called Ardex which is a high strength concrete filler to fill in low spots and in some cases will have to actually grind off the higher areas with a diamond grinder.
